There were at least four tumuli in the parish, sadly all ploughed down now, and only visible from the air as cropmarks. Three were on the south side of West Hill and one near Orchard Farm on the Fowlmere Road. There may have been others and I just haven't noticed them on the aerial photographs available from the Cambridge University Committee for Aerial Photography, (now called the CU Unit for Landscape Modelling). Geophysical surveys confirmed the presence of a ring ditch for one of the tumuli, and an almost circular enclosure for another.

If you are really interested in prehistoric barrows the County Council did a survey in 1998. The HER group there may still have a copy.
